Are you interested in weaving, but not looking to invest in a floor loom? Or have you been weaving and are looking for an alternate loom that is also portable? Join Robin Goatey, an ancient tool user and creator for our modern world!
In this full day workshop, you will learn to use the Medieval Bow Loom & Roman Form Rigid Heddle from Pompeii & Sami Style Curved Shuttle to make the Tapes (Bands) that were used for reinforcing all sorts of fabrics, belts, or straps.
Class discussion will focus on the works of British Historian John Peter Wild’s studies of the Textile Technologies and Practices of Roman Brittain.
This class has a morning and afternoon session, taking a 1 hour break for lunch.
