A Study in Yarn: The Woven Hoop Mystery 2026

Class Time: Saturday, April 25, 2026, 9:00 - 11:00 AM

Location: St. Louis Community College - Meramec Campus, 11333 Big Bend Road, Kirkwood, MO 63122. Check in at Registration 15 minutes prior to class starting at PE Building for location.

Join Q as your guide through a most satisfying little mystery: how a simple hoop, a handful of yarn, and a bit of curiosity can be transformed into a finished woven piece before you even leave the room. As Holmes would approve, all necessary supplies are included and every clue accounted for.

You’ll begin by learning how to properly set up your hoop (a crucial step, Watson!) and then proceed to weave using an assortment of playful, intriguing yarns and materials. This project is especially well-suited for handspun yarn, beloved leftovers, and those small scraps too precious to part with. If you have yarn you adore and want to enjoy every day, you’re encouraged to bring it along and weave it into the evidence.

Q will also provide a generous selection of yarns and other materials to experiment with, ensuring plenty of opportunities for creative deduction and delightful surprises. The result? A completed woven hoop and the quiet satisfaction of having solved the case, creatively, conclusively, and with style.
