The Curious Case of the Crocheted Sock 2026

Class Time: Friday, April 24, 1:00 - 5:00 PM

Location: St. Louis Community College - Meramec Campus, 11333 Big Bend Road, Kirkwood, MO 63122. Check in at Registration 15 minutes prior to class starting at PE Building for location.

Room: Science South, Room 108

Ah, the humble sock is simple in appearance, yet full of mystery and intrigue! In this delightful class, we’ll unravel the secrets of crocheting socks that fit perfectly and travel anywhere your adventures may lead. No heavy equipment or elaborate tools required, just your crochet hooks, a bit of yarn, and your own deductive skill.

Though socks may seem intimidating at first glance, fear not! Each clue from toe to cuff will be revealed step by step, with careful explanation and hands-on guidance throughout. Together, we’ll craft a custom foot template designed specifically for you, ensuring your finished pair fits like a well-tailored case file.

All necessary yarn and handouts will be provided, and by the end of class, you’ll have your very own sample sock — proof of your successful sleuthing!

Elementary, my dear crafter — your next great mystery begins with a single stitch!

Skill Prerequisite: Students should be familiar with basic crochet stitches, such as chain, single crochet, double crochet, joining your work in the round, and reading a simple pattern.
It is expected students will know how to do basic stitching and pattern reading to participate in this class.

Ages: 18+

Supplies: Included in Class Cost: Yarn and Handouts

Additional Supplies Needed: Size D and E crochet hooks, and a pencil or pen.

Homework: None.

• The class minimum is 4 students. If we are unable to fill these spots, we will cancel the class and provide a full refund.

• No refunds will be issued after April 1, 2026.
