Class Time: Friday, April 26, 2024, 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Location: St. Louis Community College - Meramec Campus, 11333 Big Bend Road, Kirkwood, MO 63122. Check in at Registration 15 minutes prior to class starting at PE Building for location.
Instructor: Bex Oliger w/ Hillcreek Yarn
Have you always wanted to knit heirloom lace doilies, tableclothes, Christening gowns or shawls like you see in Victorian movies. This class will use the stunning lace pattern collections of Gloria Penning to teach you the basics of circular knit lace.
We will learn how to chart 19th century patterns and how to adjust patterns for modern yarns and styles of knitting. Students will have sample patterns to use in class and access to all six books to get inspiration (Used with permission of the author).
Skill Prerequisite: Cast On, Knit, Purl, Yarn Over, Bind Off, and read a basic pattern. Knit chart reading is preferred, but not required.
Ages: 14+
