Location: St. Louis Community College - Meramec Campus, 11333 Big Bend Road, Kirkwood, MO 63122. Check in at Registration 15 minutes prior to class start time at PE Building for class location.

Create a Functional and Stylish Drawstring Pouch! 

In this class, we’ll make a practical and charming drawstring pouch perfect for holding all your little notions. The pouch will be knitted flat and shaped to gently narrow at the top, giving it a sleek and functional design. We’ll also create a drawstring tunnel to thread through the i-cord we’ll make during class, and use seaming techniques to assemble the pouch. 

Throughout the session, we’ll cover a variety of advanced beginner techniques, including: 

  • Reading a pattern
  • Increasing and decreasing
  • Seaming techniques
  • Creating i-cord
  • Making the drawstring tunnel 

This class is a wonderful opportunity to learn essential skills while creating a functional, personalized pouch that you’ll be proud to use for your knitting notions or small accessories. 

Skill Prerequisite:

  • Basic Knitting Techniques
    • Knit & Purl Stitch
    • Cast On
    • Bind Off 

Ages: 14 - Adult

Supplies Included in Class Cost: Handouts

Additional Supplies Needed: 

  • At least 50g of worsted weight yarn
  • 2 stitch markers
  • US 6/4.0mm knitting needles (straight or circular)
  • Darning needle

  • The class minimum is 4 students. If we are unable to fill these spots, we will cancel the class and provide a full refund.
