So, you've mastered the basics of drop spinning—what's next? Take your spinning skills to the next level with this hands-on class designed to refine your technique and expand your fiber knowledge.

We’ll begin by practicing how to spin while standing and moving around, helping you gain confidence and control over your spindle in different positions. From there, we’ll explore a variety of spinning techniques to improve consistency, control twist, and create different types of yarn.

Students will have the opportunity to spin with a range of fiber types, experiencing firsthand how different fibers behave and how to adjust their technique accordingly. We’ll also experiment with drop spindles of varying weights, shapes, and balance points, learning how spindle physics affect the spinning process and how to adapt to get the results you want.

Additionally, we’ll take a close look at your current spinning practice, breaking it down into key elements such as drafting, tension, and twist control. Through personalized feedback and troubleshooting, you’ll discover ways to refine your approach and achieve the specific yarn characteristics you desire.

By the end of the class, you’ll have a deeper understanding of the spinning process, greater confidence in handling different fibers and spindles, and the skills to create more consistent, customized yarn. Whether you're aiming for a specific texture, thickness, or twist, this class will help you fine-tune your spinning and take the next step in your fiber journey!

If you have any samples of your handspun, bring it with you as well to be able to see how varying can adjust your spinning.
