From Garden to Dye Pot - Starting Your Natural Dye Garden

Location: St. Louis Community College - Meramec Campus, 11333 Big Bend Road, Kirkwood, MO 63122. Check in at Registration 15 minutes prior to class starting at PE Building for location.

Interested in dying your own material or yarn, but don’t want to mess with harsh chemicals? Did you know that there are plants you can use to dye? Interested in getting started in your garden and also give you color in the dye pot? Have you been putting off starting your own natural dye garden?
In this class we will cover how to start your garden. We will review seeds, cuttings, and plants, how to locate sources for these materials, growing patterns of each plant, when to harvest for the best dye baths, and how to preserve materials for future use.
