Double Knitting Fun 2026

Class Time: Saturday, April 25, 2026, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Location: St. Louis Community College - Meramec Campus, 11333 Big Bend Road, Kirkwood, MO 63122. Check in at Registration 15 minutes prior to class starting at PE Building for location.

Room: Communications Building, Room 227

Discover the magic of double knitting while creating a swatch that can be used for a coaster or the beginning of an adventure in double knitting sampler! In this class, students will review traditional designs and explore how colorwork charts translate into double knitting. Participants may choose to use pre-made charts or their design from scratch before casting on their project. This class pairs well with Becki’s Chart Your Own Course class in the morning. Students will receive step-by-step support, with plenty of time for questions and personalized assistance.

Skill Prerequisite: 

• Basic Knitting including cast on
• Colorwork/Stranded Knitting Basics

Ages: Adult

Supplies Included in Class Cost: None.

Additional Supplies Needed

• notebook/paper
• pen/pencil
• Worsted Weight Yarn, 20 grams each in 2 high contrast colors
• Knitting Needles, US7 (4.5mm) - US9 (5.5mm)

Homework

• Prepare for this class by reviewing Italian/Tubular Cast On techniques.
  
• 04/18/2026 UPDATE: You will be introduced to the Two Color Long Tail Cast On.
  • If you want to learn the Italian/Tubular Cast  On technique your instructor will available to provide alternate instructions.

• The class minimum is 4 students. If we are unable to fill these spots, we will cancel the class and provide a full refund.
