In this beginner-friendly crochet class, students will dive into the fundamentals of crochet, gaining the skills and confidence to start their own projects. We’ll begin by exploring different hook sizes and yarn weights, understanding how they affect the overall look and feel of a finished piece.

Next, we’ll cover essential crochet stitches, including the chain stitch, slip stitch, and foundational stitches such as single, half double, double, and triple (treble) crochet. Each stitch will be demonstrated step by step, with plenty of hands-on practice to ensure students feel comfortable working with their hooks and yarn.

As we progress, students will learn how to read a simple crochet pattern, decipher common abbreviations, and understand pattern instructions. We’ll also discuss the importance of selecting the right yarn for a project and why swatching—creating a small test piece before starting a larger project—can make a big difference in achieving the right texture, drape, and size.

By the end of the class, students will have a strong foundation in crochet, along with the skills to start their own projects with confidence. Yarn will be provided for students to keep, allowing them to continue practicing and experimenting with their newfound skills at home.

This class seat is per person. For 1 parent and 1 child, you will need to book 2 people.
